Uzbekistan news network reported on the 12th that the Ministry of investment and foreign trade of Uzbekistan and the future energy investment company of the United Arab Emirates (Masdar clean energy) held a ceremony on the 12th to sign the construction agreement of photovoltaic power plant projects in Samarkand and gizak. Masdar will invest US $250 million on the basis of public-private partnership to build a photovoltaic power station with an installed capacity of 220 MW in each of the above two states and operate for 25 years. The financing work is planned to end in December 2021, start construction in the first quarter of 2022 and put into operation in 2023. The project has received technical support from the International Finance Corporation of the world bank.
Uzbek Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of investment and foreign trade umurzakov said at the signing ceremony that Masdar won the bidding in May this year. The power repurchase prices of photovoltaic power stations in Samarkand and gizak are 1.791 cents / kWh and 1.823 cents / kWh respectively. These prices have ranked among the top 10 in the world.
Mohamed zamiri Ali ramahi, general manager of Masdar company, said: "the above projects will enable Ukraine to play a leading role in the clean energy projects in Central Asia and contribute to the global response to climate change. This is a crucial task, and we will help Ukraine jointly complete this task."
