   The Office of the Leading Group for Promoting the Belt and Road Initiative recently released the Belt and Road Initiative Action Plan for Standard Connectivity (2015-2017) (hereinafter referred to as the Action Plan).According to the standardization tasks set out in the Vision and Actions for Jointly Building silk Road Economic Belt and 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, the action plan will focus on ten areas.

    First, we will speed up the formulation and implementation of a special plan for China's "going global" standards program to boost international cooperation in equipment and production capacity manufacturing.

   Second, we should deepen standardization and mutually beneficial cooperation and advance mutual recognition of standards with asean, Central Asia, the Gulf and other key countries and regions along the routes as the direction, with The China-Mongolia-Russia and other international economic corridors as the focus.

   Three is the focus of common concern of countries along the focus, in electric power, railway, Marine, aerospace, and other areas of the infrastructure, energy conservation, environmental protection, a new generation of information technology, intelligent transportation, high-end equipment manufacturing, biology, new energy, new materials and other emerging industries, as well as traditional Chinese medicine, fireworks, tea, textiles, footwear and other traditional industries, promote the development of international standards.

   Fourth, we will organize the translation of 500 urgently needed Chinese national and industrial standards in foreign languages in areas such as infrastructure connectivity, energy and resources cooperation, animal and plant inspection and quarantine, and upgrading bilateral economic and trade levels.

    Fifth, we will sort out and analyze the categories of bulk import and export commodities in key countries along the Belt and Road, conduct comparative analysis of bulk import and export commodity standards, and strengthen standardized services for enterprises.
Sixth, in the fields of rice, sugar cane, tea, fruits and vegetables and other special agricultural products, gradually carry out the construction of ASEAN agricultural standardization demonstration area.

   Seventh, we will promote exchanges of standardization experts and capacity building with countries and regions along the Belt and Road and strengthen cultural exchanges on standardization for ASEAN, Central Asia, the Gulf and Africa.

   Eighth, in the fields of power electronic equipment, explosion-proof equipment, household appliances, digital TELEVISION broadcasting, semiconductor lighting, Traditional Chinese medicine, Marine technology, TD-LTE information and communication, a group of organizations led by relevant industry associations, industrial alliances, scientific research institutions, universities and enterprises will be supported.We will study the establishment of standardization cooperation and communication mechanisms for standardization connectivity projects in asean, Russia, Central Asia, central and Eastern Europe and other key countries and regions.

   Ninth, strengthen standardization research in key countries and regions along the Belt and Road, organize research on standardization laws and regulations, standardization systems, development strategies and standards in key areas for Arab countries, Central Asia, Mongolia and Russia, ASEAN, Europe and North America, and establish a standardization think tank system.

  Tenth, we will support local governments in giving full play to their geographical advantages, language and culture, and industries with their own characteristics, and carry out all-round cooperation in standardization with their own characteristics.
