VV22 Low Voltage Power Cable FAQ
-
What is the maximum voltage rating of VV22 low voltage power cable?
The VV22 cable is designed for low voltage applications, typically rated for 0.6/1kV (600V to 1000V).
-
What does the "VV22" designation mean?
"VV" indicates PVC insulation and PVC sheath, while "22" signifies a double-layer steel tape armored construction for enhanced mechanical protection.
-
Where is VV22 cable commonly used?
It is widely used in power distribution networks, industrial plants, underground wiring, and other fixed installations requiring mechanical durability.
-
Is VV22 cable suitable for outdoor or direct burial applications?
Yes, its steel tape armor and robust PVC sheath make it suitable for outdoor use and direct burial in trenches.
-
What temperature range can VV22 cable withstand?
Standard operating temperature ranges from -15°C to +70°C, with short-circuit tolerance up to +160°C.
-
Does VV22 cable have flame-retardant properties?
Standard VV22 cables are not flame-retardant, but flame-retardant versions (e.g., ZR-VV22) are available upon request.
-
What conductor materials are used in VV22 cables?
Conductors are typically made of copper (Cu) or aluminum (Al), with copper being the most common for better conductivity.
-
Can VV22 cables be installed in conduit or cable trays?
Yes, they are suitable for installation in conduits, cable trays, or directly buried, thanks to their armored protection.
-
How does VV22 compare to VV32 or VV42 cables?
VV22 has steel tape armor, while VV32 uses fine steel wire armor (more flexible), and VV42 features heavy steel wire armor (higher tensile strength).
-
What international standards does VV22 cable comply with?
It generally meets IEC 60502, GB/T 12706, or other regional standards, depending on the manufacturer.
